Civil Engineer Intern

As a Civil Engineer Intern on the Civil Engineering team in Utah, you will gain hands‑on experience supporting municipal, transportation, and roadway projects while collaborating with engineers and other disciplines across an integrated design firm.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with planning and design activities for mining, structural, municipal, and other civil engineering projects.
• Prepare and update engineering drawings and plan sets using AutoCAD Civil 3D, following established project and design standards.
• Help prepare planning documents, engineering reports, quantity takeoffs, and project cost estimates.
• Participate in site inspections, field visits, and investigations to support project development.
• Work alongside engineers and other disciplines within Psomas to support multiple projects and contribute to successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications

• Current university student majoring in Civil Engineering.
• Experience with the latest versions of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship or academic project experience in civil engineering.
• Experience with transportation, roadway, mining, structural, municipal, or site development projects.
• Familiarity with engineering plans, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
• Interest in gaining hands‑on experience through site visits and field investigations.
