About the role
The Land Development Business Unit at David Evans and Associates is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training in one of our Washington offices in Everett, WA.
Responsibilities
- Apply civil engineering principles to assigned projects while working under close and immediate supervision
- Support the preparation of design plans and construction documents for a variety of projects, including site layout, grading and drainage, paving, and utilities
- Contribute to the development of water quality reports and drainage studies, including performing basic hydraulic and hydrologic calculations
- Perform calculations and assist with specifications, cost estimates, and permitting applications
- Identify and resolve design issues with guidance from project team members
- Cook up and expand technical skills and industry knowledge through hands-on project experience and mentorship
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- 0-2 years of relevant design experience in land development projects, including commercial, residential, public works, institutional, or industrial developments
- Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD or Civil 3D and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
