Civil Engineer II

About the role

Michael Baker International is seeking a Civil Engineer II to join our Civil and Environmental Practice in Salt Lake City, Utah. This position will support the planning, design, and delivery of a variety of civil engineering and land development projects. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with project managers, technical leads, and multidisciplinary teams while contributing to projects ranging from federal and aviation facilities to commercial, industrial, and public infrastructure developments. The Civil Engineer II will assist with engineering analyses, design production, technical documentation, permitting support, and client coordination while continuing to develop technical expertise and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil engineering designs and plans for site development, grading, drainage, utility, and infrastructure projects
• Perform engineering calculations, technical analyses, and supporting design documentation
• Assist with project delivery from conceptual design through construction
• Coordinate with internal disciplines, clients, and regulatory agencies
• Participate in stakeholder meetings, design reviews, and project coordination meetings
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction documents
• Support permitting and entitlement efforts
