Responsibilities
- Prepare proposals, scope of work, and budgets in close coordination with biological staff.
- Interpret, select, adapt, and apply engineering, surveying, and construction management principles and practices across a range of engineering services within a diverse conservation program.
- Complete engineering designs and reports as required.
- Prepare project plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
- Attend project meetings.
- Perform topographic surveys.
- Conduct field inspection and perform construction management oversight as needed.
- Ensure that consultants and contractors adhere to project plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Absorb occasional field work as required, which could include strenuous outdoor activity in difficult environmental conditions.
- Must be able to or willing to learn to operate ATV and outboard boat when necessary.
Requirements
- Must have at minimum, a B.S. in Civil Engineering or an equivalent degree from an EAC/ABET accredited engineering program.
- Be a registered Engineer in Training (EIT).
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in civil engineering design.
- Candidates with a Professional Engineering license are also strongly encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
- Experience and Education: Must have at minimum, a B.S. in Civil Engineering or an equivalent degree from an EAC/ABET accredited engineering program, be a registered Engineer in Training (EIT), and have a preferred minimum of 2-3 years of experience in civil engineering design.
- Experience with surveying, Civil3D, hydrology, hydraulics, civil design including structures and pump stations, erosion control, construction inspection, and project management.
Skills
- Demonstrated oral, written, and good communication skills.
