Civil Engineer
About the role
Stantec is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently and collaboratively on a variety of land development projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, grade, drainage, wet utility, street improvements, and other civil engineering design documents.
- Utilize technologies for the development of three-dimensional models of civil systems and provide markups for junior engineers/designers.
- Prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases.
- Participate in coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owners, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Prepare construction item quantity estimates and basic opinion of cost analysis.
- Aid senior engineers/designers in developing and managing the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
- Lead the preparation and coordination of project specifications with construction documents.
- Perform and oversee calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
- Utilize advanced techniques for the analysis of specialized civil elements.
- Conduct constructability reviews.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control on projects.
- Aid in the development of new standards and specifications for the civil group.
- Work on multiple projects.
Qualifications
- Experience with land development projects in the Portland market.
- Requisite knowledge and application of agency and industry applicable codes.
- Strong knowledge of civil systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Thorough understanding of task assignment, schedule, budgeting, and efficient use of time and resources.
- Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings and engage in creative and critical thought.
- Thorough understanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, etc.).
- Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Local project resume and experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in directing junior staff in execution of project deliverables is preferred.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $107,300.00 - $155,500.00 Annually
Locations: WA, DC & Various CA, MA areas
Schedule: Full time
