About the role

Stantec is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently and collaboratively on a variety of land development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, grade, drainage, wet utility, street improvements, and other civil engineering design documents.
  • Utilize technologies for three-dimensional model development of civil systems and provide markups for junior engineers/designers.
  • Prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with internal team members, external consultants, owners, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Prepare construction item quantity estimates and basic opinion of cost analysis.
  • Aid senior engineers/designers in developing and managing project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule.
  • Lead the preparation and coordination of project specifications with construction documents.
  • Perform and oversee calculations using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software.
  • Utilize advanced techniques for the analysis of specialized civil elements.
  • Conduct constructability reviews.
  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control on projects.
  • Assist in the development of new standards and specifications for the civil group.
  • Work on multiple projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience with land development projects in the Portland market.
  • Requisite knowledge and application of agency and industry applicable codes.
  • Strong knowledge of civil systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Thorough understanding of task assignment, schedule, budgeting, and efficient use of time and resources.
  • Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings and engage in creative and critical thought.
  • Thorough understanding of civil engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, etc.).
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Pay

$107,300.00 - $155,500.00 Annually
