Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and produce detailed falsework designs for bridge construction projects using AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and constructability.
- Perform comprehensive structural calculations using MathCAD to verify the integrity and safety of falsework designs.
- Provide estimates and/or material takeoffs for construction materials on projects in the pre-bid or construction phase.
- Train and mentor other team members on best practices for construction material estimating and takeoffs.
- Ensure all designs fully comply with PennDOT specifications, regulations, and design manuals, as well as AASHTO Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and clients to understand project requirements and provide engineering solutions.
- Review and stamp engineering drawings as a licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania.
REQUIRED
- Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including design files, calculations, and correspondence.
- Provide technical support and expertise to internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Stay current with industry best practices, new technologies, and changes in PennDOT and AASHTO standards.
- Assist in the development of junior engineering staff, if applicable.

- Time Management: Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
DEGREE
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.
CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification in Pennsylvania required, with a minimum of five (5) years of post-baccalaureate experience in structural engineering, preferably with a focus on bridge falsework or heavy highway construction.
