Responsibilities
- Develop and review Statements of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS), and project documentation.
- Cookinate with customers and other Governmental personnel and agencies, as necessary, to define project requirements, ensure compliance with Federal and Air Force regulations.
- Draft Performance Work Statements (PWS), prepare draft Statements of Work (SOW), draft programming documents, and develop cost estimates, briefings and other components of the programming / acquisition package for Government approval and submission.
- Perform independent technical and cost reviews of facility project design submittals, standard design templates, charrette reports, and facility design standards/tools prepared by architect-engineers.
- Perform comprehensive technical compliance verification of all aspects of the design with all applicable design criteria, including applicable Air Force (AF) and national standards, criteria, and specifications; providing a specific citation as the basis for each finding.
- Affirm a comprehensive validation of the designer’s cost estimate, citing specific areas with questionable basis.
- Afford assistance in the development of various project management tools to include project management plans, construction management documents, and all required enterprise business system data entry for assigned projects.
- Afford assistance in planning/design charrette activity; review/ oversight of contractor work in progress; and quality assurance/quality control.
- Afford planning and design work for multi-phase new construction, renovations, and improvement projects for real property facilities, including utility systems, utilizing a professional knowledge of mechanical and/or civil engineering concepts, principles, and practices.
- Afford preparation, development and/or review of design calculations, cost estimates, schedules, underlying analysis, technical drawings, and specifications related to a wide variety of projects and mechanical systems, to include plumbing (potable water and sanitary sewer); Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC); fire suppression, control, and alarm systems.
- Afford preparation, development or review of design calculations, cost estimates, schedules, underlying analysis, technical drawings, and specifications related to a wide variety of projects and systems, to include airfields, roadways, site/area development, drainage, foundations, structures, transportation; drainage and other systems of major size and complexity for use on a military installation, airfields, multi-story office buildings, large utility plants, hospitals, hangars, flight simulators, and similar structures.
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance preferred
- ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with AutoCAD
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Experience coordinating with government customers, installation personnel, or architect-engineers preferred
- Experience with airfields and roadways projects preferred
- Experience with site development and drainage projects preferred
- Experience with utility systems projects preferred
- Experience with building or facility projects such as hangars, hospitals, and office buildings preferred
- Familiarity with Primavera and RSMeans preferred
