About the role
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a Full-Time Civil Engineer GS-0810-12 to join the 628th Civil Engineer Squadron at Joint Base Charleston in Charleston, SC. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with 67 mission partners and manage civil engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and execute civil engineering projects
- Oversee construction activities and coordinate with contractors
- Review technical submittals and conduct site inspections
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards and project requirements
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and risks
- Coordinate with stakeholders and project teams
- Manage airfield and runway construction, rehabilitation, or maintenance projects
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship Required
- Obtain & Maintain a Secret Security Clearance
- Education: Degree accredited by ABET or combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of civil engineering concepts, principles, and practices
- Familiarity with architectural and other engineering disciplines
- Health, safety, and environmental knowledge
- Aesthetic and functional design techniques
- Technical drawing skills
Qualifications
- DAWIA Certification may be required
- Driving a motor vehicle may be required
- May act as project liaison with the Army Corps of Engineers or other design agencies
Benefits
Salary Range: $89,508 - $116,362. Recruitment or relocation incentive may be offered to highly qualified candidates. Up to 25% travel possible.
