About the role

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a Full-Time Civil Engineer GS-0810-12 to join the 628th Civil Engineer Squadron at Joint Base Charleston in Charleston, SC. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with 67 mission partners and manage civil engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and execute civil engineering projects
• Oversee construction activities and coordinate with contractors
• Review technical submittals and conduct site inspections
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards and project requirements
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and risks
• Coordinate with stakeholders and project teams
• Manage airfield and runway construction, rehabilitation, or maintenance projects

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship Required
• Obtain & Maintain a Secret Security Clearance
• Education: Degree accredited by ABET or combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of civil engineering concepts, principles, and practices
• Familiarity with architectural and other engineering disciplines
• Health, safety, and environmental knowledge
• Aesthetic and functional design techniques
• Technical drawing skills

Qualifications

• DAWIA Certification may be required
• Driving a motor vehicle may be required
• May act as project liaison with the Army Corps of Engineers or other design agencies

Benefits

Salary Range: $89,508 - $116,362. Recruitment or relocation incentive may be offered to highly qualified candidates. Up to 25% travel possible.
