Civil Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support engineering projects from conception to completion under the supervision of a licensed engineer.
• Aid in Project Management tasks such as developing proposals, managing client invoices, adhering to AECOM’s quality requirements.
• Create drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project success.
• Participate in site visits to assess existing structures and monitor construction progress.
• Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools.
• Attend client meetings and presentations.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and innovative structural engineering practices.
• Collect and analyze field data.
• Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
• Work within agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.
• Travel to other states for fieldwork on 1 to 3-day trips, accounting for up to 20% of the overall time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and 2 years of relevant engineering experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain certification within the first six months.
• Prior experience in the water industry is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
• Previous project management experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects efficiently.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
