Responsibilities
- Provide drafting and engineering design principles by preparing and maintaining AutoCAD Civil 3D drawings to the company standards.
- Prepare designs from general instruction and preliminary sketches, diagrams or schematics.
- Create overall exhibits for preliminary client site specific requests.
- Responsible for completing allocated work in a timely manner while also maintaining standard CAD practices in a quality assurance manner.
- Create civil record plan/production to finalize As-Built drawings.
- Prepare and maintain engineering and construction documents.
- Work effectively on design teams and coordinate with team members including CADD technicians/designers, engineers, managers, administrative staff and construction staff.
- Must be able to coordinate multiple projects while allocating production in a timely manner to meet required deadlines.
- Working alone on projects the individual should have a strong understanding of work flow, but also work effectively as a team player.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Engineering Technology degree or vocational certificate preferred.
- 4 years' of experience in the design of site/civil, utilities, and roadway projects preferred.
- 4 years' experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D dynamic tools to create surfaces, alignments, pipe networks, cross sections, profiles and view frames.
- Knowledge of Civil 3D corridors and grading surfaces is a plus.
- Certified in Microsoft Office programs.
- Willingness to assist with a wide range of projects and work with multiple project managers.
- High attention to detail, good organizational and time management skills.
- Willingly to learn new techniques in drafting and design.
- Ability and desire to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with coworkers, managers, and clients.
- Ability to ask for additional direction and assistance when needed.

Pay
The projected range for this position is $64,663 to $83,138 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for Richmond, VA only.
