Civil Construction Superintendent

About the role

As a Project Superintendent, you will manage union laborers and operators on Heavy Highway Civil projects. We seek supervisors with strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews contract documents
• Manages and leads operators and laborers throughout the project duration
• Schedules workers for daily tasks on each project
• Manages day-to-day operations and safety for each project
• Assists in gathering data for billing purposes
• Reviews and approves materials and equipment for project work
• Coordinates activities, materials, procurement, and related tasks with Project Manager and Field Staff
• Communicates progress and prepares reports as needed by Project Manager, Project Director, Owner’s Rep, or Architect
• Represents the company at weekly Project Owner’s meetings
• Responsible for scheduling and performance of all operators and laborers on each project
• Supervises, reviews, and coordinates submittals
• Builds and executes a project according to plan

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in construction
• General understanding of reading plans and specifications for construction projects
• General understanding of IDOT and MODOT standard specifications for road and bridge construction
• Knowledge of pay items and job costing
• GPS knowledge is a plus

Exceptional candidates not meeting the experience requirements may be considered for an entry-level position.
