What You'll Do
As Superintendent, you'll oversee daily construction operations and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest standards.
- Lead field operations on utility, site development, roadway, excavation, grading, drainage, and paving projects.
- Manage Foremen, crews, subcontractors, and vendors to keep projects running efficiently.
- Coordinate with Project Managers to develop schedules, site logistics, and work plans.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure OSHA compliance on all jobsites.
- Track project progress, manpower, equipment, and productivity.
- Oversee the installation of water mains, sewer systems, storm drainage, and other underground utilities.
- Review construction plans and specifications to ensure accurate execution in the field.
- Maintain communication with inspectors, engineers, municipalities, and utility companies.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and project requirements.
- Mentor and develop field personnel while building strong, successful teams.
- Assist with project documentation, change orders, RFIs, and reporting.
- Support construction layout, survey coordination, and project planning efforts.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in heavy civil construction.
- Experience managing crews, subcontractors, and multiple jobsite activities.
- Strong background in:
- Water main installation
- Sewer construction
- Underground utilities
- Site development
- Excavation and earthwork
- Drainage systems
- Roadway and paving projects
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA 10 and First Aid certifications.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience with municipal, DOT, or public infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with permitting and construction requirements in Westchester County.
- Knowledge of RFIs, change orders, scheduling, and project controls.
- Experience with concrete work and complex civil site development projects.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per hour.

This is a permanent position based out of Mount Vernon, NY. This is a fully onsite position.
