Civil Construction Manager / Inspector
About the Role
Olsson is seeking a Civil Construction Manager/Inspector to join our team, working on diverse construction projects throughout the Omaha metropolitan area. As a Construction Manager/Inspector, you would be responsible for complex construction projects, managing and oversee the quality of construction at the project site. In this role, you will act as a quality assurance manager representing the owner with regards to all construction activities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the quality assurance program at the project site.
- Read and interpret plans and specifications at various stages of a project.
- Initiate actions needed to keep construction progress on schedule.
- Solve on-site problems and situations regarding construction of the project and design modifications.
- Work in all types of terrain and weather conditions on project sites in various stages of construction.
- Identify and avoid potential hazards for workers and the public in and around project sites.
- Track that special inspections and materials testing is being completed.
- Oversee RFIs and submittals.
- Attend project meetings and provide verification that the quality documentation of the project is being completed per the owners' requirements.
This position includes the use of a company truck for transportation to and from job sites, applicable PPE (personal protective equipment), prescription safety eyewear and work boot reimbursement program, a company-issued laptop, and cell phone reimbursement options.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and codes.
- Valid driver’s license and a good driving history.
- Schedule flexibility.
- 3-5 years' experience performing construction materials testing, observation, or construction administration.

- American Concrete Institute (ACI) Field Grade 1.
- Nuclear Gauge Safety Training.
- OSHA10 or OSHA30.
- Associate or bachelor's degree in a construction-related field.
