Civil CAD Drafter/Designer

About the role

A growing civil engineering consulting firm is seeking a Civil CAD Designer to support the design of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This hands-on production drafting role focuses on generating high-quality plan sets and design documents while working alongside experienced engineers and designers in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Produce 2D and 3D civil construction drawings
• Draft plan sheets, profiles, and details using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Prepare report figures and design exhibits
• Assist with quantity take-offs
• Support Project Engineers and Project Managers throughout the design process
• Assist with project coordination and design activities
• Participate in occasional field visits for site verification and measurements
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative design environment

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience using Civil 3D in a professional setting
• Proficiency with AutoCAD
• Experience preparing, drafting, and designing civil construction plans
• Preferred: Experience supporting civil engineering design projects
• Preferred: Municipal, utility, transportation, land development, or water/wastewater project experience
• Preferred: Associate's Degree in Drafting & Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field

Pay

Pay Range: $32.50 - $45.00 per hour. Compensation is based on experience, Civil 3D proficiency, and relevant industry experience.

Schedule

• Option 1: Monday – Thursday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Friday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
• Option 2: Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Average work week is approximately 44–45 hours

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite, contract-to-hire position based in South Bend, IN. The role is primarily office-based with occasional field visits for site verification, measurements, and project-related activities.
