About the role
Our St. Louis Civil team is seeking an experienced AutoCAD (Civil 3D) Designer to support the team. Designers perform detailed drafting and support activities related to the preparation of plans, specifications, reports, and other documents for engineering projects within prescribed time frames and funding parameters. This position may also support the indirect supervision, mentoring, and training of Technicians and Designers. Advancement is based on performance and discretionary accomplishments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare CAD/Revit drawings and project documents in accordance with company standards.
- Interpret drawing mark-ups and update CAD/Revit files based on plan review comments.
- Coordinate efforts with the Project Manager and overall design team.
- Perform specific work assignments in accordance with established schedules and within prescribed budgets.
- Read and interpret plans, sketches, and specifications.
- Support the training of Staff Technicians and Designers in technical design, CAD/Revit skills, standards, processes, and DMA procedures as necessary.
- Provide QA/QC support for Technicians and Designers related to CAD/Revit standards, integration, and client-specific requirements.
- Follow and abide by DMA employee and safety manuals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit or comparable software.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam or equivalent document management software.
- Ability to perform basic design calculations, figures, and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to make design decisions based on technical experience.
