Civil 3D CAD Technician/Designer

About the role

Banning Engineering is seeking a CAD Technician / Designer to produce civil engineering design drawings and construction documents for various types of projects across Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil site, grading, drainage, and utility plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Develop construction documents, details, and exhibits from engineer markups and design criteria.
• Build and maintain surfaces, alignments, profiles, and corridors within Civil 3D.
• Incorporate survey data and base mapping into design drawings.
• Ensure drawings conform to client, agency, and CAD standards.
• Cook up with project engineers and survey staff to resolve design conflicts.
• Maintain organized project files and drawing records.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs and exhibit preparation as needed.

Requirements

• Associate degree in civil engineering technology, drafting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three years of CAD drafting experience in a civil engineering or land development setting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Working knowledge of civil design and drafting conventions, including grading, drainage, and utilities.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple project drawings concurrently.

Qualifications

• Experience with single family / multifamily residential design and plan production (preferred).
• Experience incorporating survey deliverables into design files (preferred).
