City-Wide Paraeducator- LEAD Program, West Bristol

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Aid in small group and individual pupil instruction.
• Assist the special education teacher in maintaining discipline.
• Support the teacher during instructional activities.
• Escort students between rooms.
• May involve toileting students.
• Supervise students during recess and lunch.
• Assist with classroom assignments and copying materials.
• Help prepare paperwork and file materials.
• Alert teachers to student issues.
• May assist with toileting students.

Qualification Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
• Two years of college credit or an associate's degree.
• Successful completion of a paraprofessional assessment covering content knowledge and IEP implementation.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use job-related software.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Physical Demands

• Sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community.
• Perform duties with awareness of district requirements and Board of Education policies.
