City Park Worker
The City of New York is seeking a City Park Worker at a recreation center in the Bronx.
About the Role
Reporting to a Center Manager, the City Park Worker assists in general maintenance work at a recreation center, including lawn mowing, edging, seeding, snow removal, cultivating, fertilizing, sod laying, hedge trimming, sweeping, raking of litter and emptying of receptacles. They also clean and maintain facilities including public restrooms. Additionally, they perform minor repair work such as plumbing, masonry, electrical, painting, carpentry, metal work and vehicle and equipment repair. The position involves driving vehicles and operating other motorized equipment, performing safety checks on facilities and equipment, and moving furniture, climbing, and performing other physical activities as required.
Responsibilities
- Lawn mowing, edging, seeding, snow removal, cultivating, fertilizing, sod laying, hedge trimming, sweeping, raking of litter and emptying of receptacles
- Clean and maintain facilities including public restrooms
- Perform minor repair work including, but not limited to, plumbing, masonry, electrical, painting, carpentry, metal work and vehicle and equipment repair
- Drive vehicles and operate other motorized equipment
- Perform safety checks on facilities and equipment
- Move furniture, climb and perform other physical activities as required
Requirements
- A Motor Vehicle Driver's License valid in the State of New York is required
- Ability to read and to understand and obey orders is required
- There are certain medical and physical requirements

Skills
- Ability to drive to locations in all five boroughs
- Ability to work flexible hours, nights and weekends as needed
- Familiarity with Bronx neighborhoods

$40,343.00 – $46,395.00
