City Manager
About the role
The City of Manzanita, Oregon is seeking a dynamic and experienced City Manager to lead the city through its next chapter. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in local government management and a passion for fostering a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the City
- Ensure efficient and effective operation of the City Council, staff, and advisory bodies
- Foster a collaborative relationship with the City Council
- Serve as an effective messenger of the City's priorities and actions
- Engage the community
- Support public finance, public works, growth and tourism management, housing and short term policy, intergovernmental coordination, and emergency preparedness
- Appreciate and embrace Manzanita's close-knit, vibrant, and welcoming small-town atmosphere
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration or related field
- At least three years of upper-level local government management experience
- Advanced degree in public administration or a related field, and/or five years or more experience as a City Manager preferred
- Membership with relevant professional organizations such as ICMA
- Experience working in the Council-Manager form of government
- Familiarity with the unique aspects of coastal, small, and/or prominent vacation destination municipalities

Benefits
The City of Manzanita offers a competitive compensation package including a salary range of $130,000 to $170,000 (DOQ).
