Mountain View's next City Attorney will lead a talented team of 12 professionals and join a collaborative Executive Leadership Team in advancing the City's ambitious goals.
The City seeks an accomplished municipal law executive who combines exceptional legal judgment with intellectual curiosity and a solutions-oriented approach. The successful candidate will provide counsel on complex and often precedent-setting issues involving municipal governance, housing, land use, CEQA, and evolving State legislation. This collaborative leader will thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy helping shape public policy while navigating today's most challenging legal issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel on municipal governance, housing, land use, CEQA, and evolving State legislation
- Lead a team of 12 legal professionals
- Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to advance City goals
- Navigate complex and precedent-setting legal issues
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree
- Active membership in the State Bar of California
- Executive or senior-level municipal law experience serving as a City Attorney or Assistant City Attorney (desirable)

Pay
Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience (DOQE). Incumbent salary: $362,807.
