About the role

As the Sous Chef, you’re the creative force behind the banquet kitchen, crafting delicious bites that wow every guest. Whether following classic recipes or inventing new favorites for special events, you ensure every dish looks and tastes amazing. You collaborate to maintain a spotless, safe, and organized kitchen while making smart choices to reduce waste and maximize ingredient usage. This position is an overtime-eligible manager (OEM), with overtime calculated accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and team members with enthusiasm, maintaining a professional appearance and fostering a positive environment.
• Uphold Aimbridge Hospitality’s standards to ensure the hotel operates safely, smoothly, and efficiently.
• Lead, motivate, and train the kitchen team, providing guidance and development to ensure success.
• Manage kitchen budgets, inventory, and logistics while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
• Control food costs, design banquet displays, and ensure every meal and team interaction is exceptional.
• Create banquet menus and design food presentations for plating and buffets, turning every meal into a masterpiece.
• Resolve complex workplace challenges independently, escalating only the most difficult issues while maintaining composure under pressure.
• Demonstrate deep subject-matter expertise and mentor others effectively.
• Communicate clearly, evaluate options promptly, and actively listen to address concerns from colleagues and guests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree typically required.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
