About the role
This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-growing maintenance repair organization. The role involves performing basic sheet metal operations, assisting in supervising crews, and maintaining shop facilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic sheet metal operations such as drilling, riveting, cutting on airframe and associated components.
- Apply and remove sealant, sound deadening, and finish materials.
- Maintain, clean, and repair shop facilities, equipment, and tooling when required.
- Navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
- Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English.
- Assist in organizing manpower and setting priorities for involved projects.
- Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader.
- Supervise other technicians in some capacity.
Requirements
- A High school diploma or equivalent, and Airframe and Powerplant License is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
- Prior experience working with sheet metal is preferred.
- Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments.
- Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
- Reliable transportation to get to work each day.
- Comply with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
- Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
- Maintain customer-oriented work habits.
Qualifications
- Basic to advanced knowledge of turbine aircraft structures.
- Ability to read blueprints and working from drawings.
- Knowledge of fastening systems, procedures, and techniques.
- Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
