Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and manage Cisco-based network infrastructures to support scalable, secure, and reliable data center expansions.
- Act as the lead subject matter expert on Cisco networking technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, and associated systems.
- Deploy and uphold robust network security protocols, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encrypted communications.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive integration of network systems within data center operations.
- Diagnose and resolve advanced network issues to maintain high availability and performance.
- Perform network performance evaluations and recommend enhancements for optimization.
- Ensure adherence to DoD cybersecurity standards and policies, including compliance with STIGs.
- Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, operational procedures, and system processes.
- Offer technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering with a concentration on Cisco technologies.
- Deep expertise in Cisco networking platforms, including but not limited to: Cisco routers (e.g., ISR, ASR series), Cisco switches (e.g., Catalyst, Nexus series), Cisco firewalls (e.g., ASA, Firepower), Cisco SD-WAN and related technologies.
- Strong grasp of network security concepts such as VPNs, ACLs, encryption, and intrusion prevention.
- Experience supporting DoD or federal clients, particularly in data center environments.
- Skilled in using network monitoring and management tools (e.g., Cisco Prime, SolarWinds).
- Knowledgeable in DoD cybersecurity frameworks and compliance (e.g., RMF, NIST 800-53).
- Cisco certifications such as CCNP or CCIE are highly preferred.
- Experience with DoD data center build-outs or migration projects.
- Understanding of cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid network models.
- Familiarity with software-defined networking (SDN) principles.
- Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance.
