About the role
This position is ideal for a Software Development professional who is excited to teach in a modern, applied environment—one that increasingly reflects how software is built today using AI-augmented development tools, intelligent agents, and data-driven systems. Our five-week terms and small class sizes provide an exceptional setting for faculty to share real-world experience, mentor students closely, and connect theory to professional practice.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer & Information Science or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline from a regionally accredited institution
- D. in Computer & Information Science preferred
- 3–5 years of industry experience required; 8–10 years preferred
- Technical Experience:
- Programming experience in one or more of the following: C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, PHP
- Database experience with MS SQL Server or Oracle, including SQL (Structured Query Language)
- Experience with AI-augmented software development tools, such as: AI-assisted coding, debugging, and testing tools
- Prompt-driven development workflows
- Code generation and review using AI systems
- Exposure to agentic AI concepts, such as: Autonomous or semi-autonomous software agents, Workflow orchestration and task-driven agents
- Responsible use of AI agents in software systems
- Foundational experience or applied exposure to machine learning, including:
- Integrating ML models into software applications
- Working with data-driven features or intelligent system components
- Understanding model lifecycle, limitations, and ethical considerations
