About the role

As a Circuit Breaker Tech I, you will perform general maintenance on electric circuit breakers across a broad spectrum of manufacturers while adhering to all safety rules and best practices. This position reports to the Production Supervisor and involves hands-on inspection, repair, and testing of circuit breakers to ensure optimal performance and compliance with customer and OEM standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance on electric circuit breakers across a broad spectrum of manufacturers.
• Conduct final electrical and mechanical functional tests as required.
• Inspect, dismantle, clean, repair, reassemble, and calibrate all types of electric circuit breakers.
• Perform basic electrical testing to ensure proper operation in accordance with customer requirements.
• Test and troubleshoot circuit breakers and auxiliary devices, calibrating to OEM guidelines.
• Prepare circuit breaker test sheets documenting all "as found" and "as left" conditions and testing results.
• Maintain strong client relationships through quality and quantity of work performed.
• Complete test reports to Company and Customer standards and timelines.
• Demonstrate a continual effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
• Communicate with Production Manager, Manager, or other designees for effective problem resolution and transfer of pertinent job information.
• Work collaboratively with team members to complete work assignments effectively.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area, observing all company, local, and federal safety rules and best practices.
• Provide offsite technical support as required or assigned by manager.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and night shifts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related field.
• Mechanical aptitude with experience in overhauling and maintaining mechanical equipment such as motors, engines, or similar devices.
• Knowledge of circuit breakers associated with low voltage switchgear applications up to 600V and medium voltage applications up to 15KV.
• Basic understanding of electrical power systems and ability to read electrical schematics or wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of safety standards such as OSHA and state safety regulations.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as NETA, IEEE, and NFPA.
• Proven mechanical skills and/or experience with different types of low and high voltage equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer skills for data entry, information lookup, and report creation.
• Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to follow written and oral directions, read work orders, and specifications.
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate with team members, departments, and customers as needed.
• Customer-focused with the ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects, and produce quality work.
• Valid driver’s license for positions requiring the use of a company vehicle.

Pay

$19–$23 per hour, depending on experience.
