We are seeking a motivated student employee to serve as the Front Desk Receptionist for the CIO Office. The successful candidate will have a positive, professional, and genuine customer service attitude, displaying excellence, integrity, reliability, and innovation while solving problems, executing tasks, and supporting the CIO Office suite.
Responsibilities
- Provide a high level of customer service to faculty, staff, and students and assist staff with office operations.
- Perform duties including typing, filing, answering telephones, customer service, scheduling appointments, and meeting/event set-up.
- Greet and direct visitors to the appropriate resource.
- Answer phones and relay messages.
- Operate basic office equipment.
- Perform light personnel filing and database research.
- Set up and clean up before and after OIT meetings and events.
- Assist with supply inventory.
- Manage the distribution of incoming/outgoing mail.
- Light cleaning.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Customer service experience.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Good phone etiquette.
- MS Office experience.
- Comfortable in an office setting.
- Must work well with others.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
Skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Schedule
Up to 25 hours per week during regular business hours. Remote work is not available.
Enrollment Requirements
- Fall/Spring Semesters: All student employees must be enrolled at least half-time (5 hours for graduates, 6 hours for undergraduates). F1/J1 Visa students must be enrolled full-time (9 credit hours for graduates, 12 credit hours for undergraduates).
- Summer Semester: Students must be enrolled in at least 3 summer credit hours or be enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in the minimum credit hours required for their classification. Students enrolled in fewer than 3 summer credit hours will be subject to FICA taxes. For Federal Work Study Program (FWSP) positions, students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours (undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (graduate).
- Enrollment Exception: If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum required, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor and submit it to Human Resources.
New incoming students are not eligible for student employment until the semester in which they begin classes.
