Essential Job Functions
- Always complies with company safety rules during working hours and ensures the safety of himself/herself and others at his/her operating station.
- Responsible for keeping equipment and work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Works in a professional manner, punctual and highly dependable.
- Mechanically sets up line, pay-off through take-up operation, including installation of appropriate tooling (dies) and all auxiliary line equipment needed to produce specified cable-in-conduit described by CIC process instructions and/or the engineering specifications stated in the computer system.
- Consistently monitors the supply of raw material to ensure continuous operation.
- Performs required measurements with company approved measuring devices to ensure final process meets the required specifications (reference PC 035).
- Visually inspects all empty take-up reels for proper size, strength, and appearance including the inside of flanges for foreign material/substance that could cause damage to the finished cable product.
- Mechanically sets up/operates the take-up machine and puts up a neat-looking reel free of crossovers.
- Responsible for cable packaging requirements including properly applying end caps and securing the top/drum cable ends to the reel.
- Verifies the measuring devices are calibrated.
- Takes corrective action to ensure quality product.
- Generates product identification tags for finished products and maintains accurate record keeping of all pertinent information required by Hendrix, including work center-related quality records.

- Participates in scheduled team meetings and contributes to continuous improvement.
- Participates in maintaining ISO certification.
- Adheres to applicable System Level Procedures (SLP) and Process Controls (PC).
- Follows production tracking report schedule.
- Performs head clean-ups and screw pulls when required or as according to schedule.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Understanding of the basic extrusion line operation and line components associated with the process.
- Tools and measuring devices applicable to the industry.
- Operation of the pay-off and take-up equipment.
- ISO requirements pertaining to the lines.
- Selection and installation of dies.
- Compound conveyer system.
- Power switches.
- Temperature, air and water controls.
- Vacuum sizing tank and tube.
- Hot foil printer.
- Identification and tagging of finished product.
- Internal/industry codes and abbreviations are used to identify compounds and conductors.
