CHS Faculty Fellow: Research and Scholarship

About the role

The College of Humanities and Sciences (CHS) seeks a faculty fellow to work closely with the Associate Dean for Research during the academic year 2026-27 (August 2026 to August 2027).

Responsibilities

• Support faculty development, mentoring, and promotion for the College of Humanities and Sciences.
• Work closely with the AD for Research and other members of the dean’s office on revising key research/scholarship policies.
• Implement CHS internal funding and strategic planning in alignment with VCU’s Research Strategic Priorities Plan (SRPP) initiatives and the recently developed 16 research clusters.
• Help facilitate collaborations aimed at training or center-level grants.

Requirements

• Tenured at the associate professor or professor rank.
• Research-active and have an understanding of multiple aspects of research and scholarship.
• Experience with grants and/or publication process is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a member of the CHS faculty.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Benefits

• A teaching reduction each semester.
• A $4,000 summer stipend.

Pay

• Salary commensurate with experience.

Schedule

• Full-time, academic year position (August 2026 to August 2027).
