Chris Langer

Chris (he/him) co-founded CMYK in 2007 to escape the creatively toxic agency environments of his early career. He built the company by developing and shooting every project, achieving early success with global brands like McKinsey & Co., Aetna, and NYU. After over a decade at CMYK, Chris now directs all production and development while overseeing creative work across the studio.

His background includes film production (OSU undergraduate degree) and interactive design (NYU master’s degree). He frequently teaches courses at The New School and Brooklyn College in NYC.

About the role

As Interaction Director and Co-Founder, you will lead creative direction, production, and development for studio projects while shaping the company’s creative vision. This role involves hands-on work with global brands, mentoring the team, and contributing to the studio’s growth.

Responsibilities

• Direct all production and development efforts in the studio.
• Oversee creative work across the company, ensuring high-quality output.
• Collaborate with global brands on branding, web design, and digital strategy projects.
• Mentor team members and contribute to a creative, non-toxic work environment.
• Engage in hands-on design, development, and film production as needed.
• Teach or guest-lecture at partner institutions (e.g., The New School, Brooklyn College).

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in film production/studies (OSU or equivalent).
• Master’s degree in interactive design or related field (NYU or equivalent).
• 10+ years of experience in creative direction, film production, and digital design.
• Proven track record of building and leading a creative studio or agency.
• Experience working with global brands (e.g., McKinsey, Aetna, NYU).
• Strong portfolio in branding, web design, content strategy, and ecommerce.
