About the role
The position begins in late July for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Responsibilities
- Teaching foundational music classes and performance-based classes including directing the Middle and High School choral groups.
- Establishing an instrumental music program.
- Preparing students for assemblies, performances, and special events.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work independently and in a group.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with parents, students, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to motivate and manage students in daily course work and through performance contexts.
- Strong work ethic, adaptability, generous spirit, sense of humor, and confidence working with students.
- Commitment to and alignment with the School's mission and vision.
Qualifications
- B.S. / B.A. degree.
- Prior experience teaching music, conducting instrumental ensembles, or leading choral groups.
- Two or more years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in an independent school setting.
Skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a range of learners.
- Effective classroom management strategies.
