Chorus Teacher

About the role

The position begins in late July for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Responsibilities

• Teaching foundational music classes and performance-based classes including directing the Middle and High School choral groups.
• Establishing an instrumental music program.
• Preparing students for assemblies, performances, and special events.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to effectively work independently and in a group.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with parents, students, faculty, and staff.
• Ability to motivate and manage students in daily course work and through performance contexts.
• Strong work ethic, adaptability, generous spirit, sense of humor, and confidence working with students.
• Commitment to and alignment with the School's mission and vision.

Qualifications

• B.S. / B.A. degree.
• Prior experience teaching music, conducting instrumental ensembles, or leading choral groups.
• Two or more years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in an independent school setting.

Skills

• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a range of learners.
• Effective classroom management strategies.
