Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat sports medicine and musculoskeletal disorders, including emergency response to acute health problems.
  • Provide performance therapy, including evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, prescription of corrective exercise, manual therapy, and guiding guests through the transition from injury to optimal performance.
  • Utilize advanced certifications in strength and conditioning and manual therapy, and familiarity with basic therapeutic modalities.
  • Educate others in sport and exercise medicine, including development of a curriculum for on-site and virtual presentations.
  • Evaluate and treat sport and exercise-related health conditions with manual therapy, corrective exercise, and modalities such as extracorporeal shockwave therapy following physician-established protocols.
  • Collaborate with Performance Science and Fitness to provide integrated performance therapy.
  • Educate guests on treatment options, providing follow-up through detailed assessments and treatment options.
  • Respond to emergencies and acute conditions when required.
  • Provide education to the broader medical professional community both internally and externally concerning treatment for certain medical conditions, products, and available services.
  • Prepare written and verbal education materials for Canyon Ranch staff and collaborate with Marketing for guest education materials on services.
  • Provide individualized and public speaking engagements as the specialist for extracorporeal shockwave and generate referrals.
  • Educate internal medical department staff members as well as external departments such as Life Enhancement Center, Program Advising, Reservations, and Membership staff on Canyon Ranch services offered to guests and their purpose.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other Health & Performance (H&P) practitioners for continuity of care for guests.
  • Complete all documentation, inter-staff communication, and follow-up for guest consults in a timely fashion.
  • Participate in clinical and administrative meetings and committees (e.g., H&P Quarterly meetings, Grand Rounds, Ranch-wide Info meetings).
  • Actively engage in the retail sales of various products and effectively communicate the benefits, treatment modalities, and options available to guests.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
  • BLS for Health Care Providers certification.
  • Licensure as required by the state in which services are provided.
