Chiller Technician
Position Summary
The Chiller Technician will support the maintenance, repair, and service of commercial and industrial HVAC and central plant equipment. This role works closely with customers and internal teams to troubleshoot issues, complete preventative maintenance, and support reliable system performance while maintaining a strong focus on safety and customer service.
Position Details
- Maintain and repair central plant equipment, including chillers 100 tons and larger, motors, pumps, valves, controls, cooling towers, vane axial fans, and other auxiliary equipment.
- Overhaul of centrifugal chillers a plus.
- Familiar with all aspects of rigging.
- Support the office with recommended repairs from delivery to completion.
- Availability for emergency service calls “on-call” through normal rotation.
- Responsible for end-to-end testing, programming, start-ups, and commissioning.
- Manage site-wide maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair duties for chillers, cooling towers, and central plant equipment.
- Perform daily and monthly preventative maintenance on all associated equipment of chillers, cooling towers, and central plant equipment.
- Ensure completion of maintenance within the scheduled month and allocated time.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of all on-site equipment.
- Attend monthly safety meetings.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Work directly with the Service Supervisor on new and existing customer opportunities or issues.
Qualifications
- 5 years of work experience at the journeyman level and technical schooling.
- Commercial/Industrial air conditioning experience required.
- Knowledge of Chiller, HVAC, and Central Plants.
- Commercial/Industrial air conditioning experience required.
- Must be available for emergency service calls “on call” through normal rotation.
- EPA certified.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
