Chili Cooker

About the role

We are seeking a Chili Cooker to join our team in Turlock, CA on swing shift. You’ll work in a collaborative, hard-working environment where we solve tough problems and will be better with you.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the product to be used along with the tags following the company’s Tag Collection Procedure.
• Prepare clean, sound, good barrels to be filled with cooked material.
• Maintain forms, logs, and paperwork associated with the work area.
• Wash and sanitize equipment as scheduled by the Production Supervisor.
• Perform agtron test on each batch of product to ensure surface color meets specification.
• Perform moisture analysis on each batch to ensure the moisture is on target.
• Fill barrels to proper weight (weight determined by operator).
• Operate a forklift safely and work safely around heavy forklift traffic.
• Perform job reclassification in JDE.
• Work closely with shift supervisor and/or lead person to ensure assigned duties are completed.
• Start up cookers and ensure product safety and quality tests are met.
• Enter information into JDE and be flexible to work varying shifts based on business need.

Requirements

• Ability to work a diverse range of tasks, including handling filled drums weighing 75 lbs. at a time and safely rolling drums weighing up to 190 lbs.
• Ability to navigate extreme temperatures, loud noises, airborne food particles, and forklift fumes.
• Interest in being part of an effective and productive manufacturing process.
• Ability to read and write with a desire to continually learn and improve.
• Knowledge of Industrial Safety and Hygiene guidelines; previous experience in plant production sites, especially in the food industry, is a plus.
• At least 3 years of previous Manufacturing Operator experience.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
• Must reside in the Turlock, CA area or be willing to commute.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $26.04 per hour USD. Pay within the range is based on several factors, including education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.
