Childress, TX - Plant Operator

About the role

The Plant Operator is responsible for the execution of basic production in the Thermo Plastic and/or Paint Department. This includes understanding and executing production processes such as the podium, cat walk, bagging, cutting, wrapping, mixing, and filling line operations. The role involves operating machinery according to operations manuals, best practices, and directions provided, while also performing tasks like setting, calibrating, troubleshooting, maintaining, ensuring quality, and meeting production output goals.

Responsibilities

• Understand and execute production including and not limited to the podium, cat walk, bagging, cutting, wrapping, mixing and filling line operations
• Operate respective machinery according to the operations manual, best practices and directions provided
• Execute proper settings, calibrations, troubleshooting, maintenance, quality and production output of the equipment
• Comply with all company policies and guidelines
• Absorb and follow verbal and written directions
• Earn forklift certification
• Push, pull, lift 50 lbs.; Stand up to 11 hours daily
• Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Lead or Plant Manager

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 6 months manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to push, pull, lift 50 lbs.; Stand up to 11 hours daily
• Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration

Qualifications

• Ability to follow verbal and written directions
• Ability to earn forklift certification
