About the Role

This is a professional position providing job coaching to Directions for Living child services case managers who are certified, or identified to be certified, in Targeted Case Management (TCM). This position will work with Children’s Outpatient (COP) under the Outpatient Services Division.

COP provides children’s therapy, TCM, and High-Fidelity Wraparound (HFW) services designed for children who have experienced trauma, including loss and grief, depression, anxiety, abuse histories, and addictions. These services are provided both in-office and in the community. COP services can be for the individual or the family, assisting in managing mild to moderate behavioral or emotional needs stemming from trauma, such as school behavior difficulties, adoption-related issues, thoughts of suicide or self-harm, abuse histories, and addictions.

All COP programming utilizes a solution-focused, family-centered approach and evidence-based or research-supported practices to assist children and families in problem-solving skills, behavior strategies, and anger management skills, among other therapeutic interventions.

Responsibilities

• Assess children’s services TCM’s strengths and areas in need of improvement to ensure they meet the requirements of their position and provide high-quality care.
• Develop and implement a training plan, providing one-on-one training tailored to the needs of children’s services TCM team members to improve and maintain job skills related to TCM services.
• Conduct in-field training and shadowing of child services TCM’s to ensure high-quality TCM field and home visits.
• Instruct child services TCM’s on skills related to assessing risk and identifying the appropriate level of care for clients (e.g., TCM, Wraparound, Higher Level of Care).
• Monitor DFL Behavioral Health Case Management Certifications and ensure all new staff submit certifications timely.
• Train child services TCM’s on how to accurately and effectively complete Targeted Case Management Authorizations.

As an essential services provider, all Directions for Living employees must be willing and able to provide vital support and essential services in the event of an emergency, pandemic, or other disaster situation.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in human services or a related field preferred; minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required.
• Certified as a Behavioral Health Case Manager/Supervisor through the Florida Certification Board.
• Certification in CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention techniques and First Aid/CPR required.
• Obtain and maintain High Fidelity Wraparound Facilitator and Coaches Certification.
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality preferred.
• Healthcare experience with a quality assurance background preferred.
• Experience with AHCA and CMS regulatory requirements preferred.
• Experience in quality and risk preferred.
• Knowledge of DCF Policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of CARF standards.
• Knowledge of information systems and software applications.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to use Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stay organized when dealing with multiple employees.
• Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 or willing to be vaccinated immediately upon hire (condition of employment).
