Children's Outpatient Services, Genetic Counselor II

Position Overview

Is responsible for providing genetic counseling to patients referred to the program who may be at risk for a hereditary condition. Counsels patients referred to the program on all genetic testing related matters, including risk assessment, overview of genetic testing, test results and implications, and suggested follow-up.

Education

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Master's: Genetic Counseling

Experience

2 years recent relevant experience. Preferred experience in Pediatric Genetics.

Certification & Licensure

CGC-Certified Genetic Counselor

Skills and Knowledge

• Understanding of clinical applications and standards necessary to provide comprehensive, current genetic services and counseling.
• Familiar with input and data retrieval on computer database.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, good writing ability.
• Knowledge and experience in the area of teamwork with health professionals.

Schedule

Full Time, Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week.

Pay

Pay range is $97,032.00 to $145,558.40 annual salary. The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
