About the role

The Children's Education Coordinator Assistant position at RHD Woodstock Family Center supports the mission of providing emergency housing services for single women with children. The role includes creating a safe and engaging environment for children, assisting with educational activities, and supporting parents.

Responsibilities

  • Keep Bright Spaces, Kidz Zone, Computer Lab, and Art Room clean and safe.
  • Monitor the Computer Lab during designated times.
  • Prepare activities for Bright Spaces, Kidz Zone, and the Art Room.
  • Facilitate activities in Bright Spaces, Kidz Zone, and the Art Room at designated times.
  • Supervise children's play and facilitate arts and craft projects.
  • Administer the Ages and Stages Questionnaire to children ages three to five years old.
  • Ensure proper documentation of ongoing services is recorded.
  • Support parents by modeling appropriate parenting techniques.
  • Assist in preparing and distributing donations.
  • Aid in keeping the donation rooms and office area neat and organized.
  • Auxiliary support during special events, communicating professionally with donors and class facilitators.
  • Maintain flexibility to work two evenings a week when Parenting Classes are offered to monitor children.
  • Assist with shopping and picking up items for events and programs.
  • Drive company vehicle as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience working with children birth to 15 years old.
  • Teaching experiences a plus.
  • Training and experience in the sciences of child development and appropriate parenting techniques.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Knowledgeable regarding Behavioral Health.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

  • Knowledgeable about Behavioral Health.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Vehicle requirements: Current driver's license, driver registration, experience operating 15 or fewer passenger vehicle, capable of meeting physical requirements of the job.
