Children's Director - The Hills Community Church

About the role

The Hills Kids Director leads a team of 30 volunteers who create unforgettable experiences for kids every week at The Hills Community Church. The Hills Kids ministry has fluctuated from 15-30 kids, and the role involves overseeing the setup, execution, and tear down of Hills Kids for the portable church environment at Double Peak School in San Marcos on Sundays. Additionally, the director is responsible for creating a Wednesday night experience for kids to learn scripture and grow in their relationship with Jesus.

Responsibilities

• Sunday Mornings: Oversee the setup, execution, and tear down of Hills Kids for the portable church environment at Double Peak School in San Marcos.
• Wednesday Nights: Create a Wednesday night experience for kids to learn scripture and grow in their relationship with Jesus.
• Service Opportunities: Empower kids and their families to serve at the schools, in the community, and even on mission trips.
• Hills Kids Camp: Help organize and support the most fun week of the year with Hills Kids Camp, involving over 140 people (kids and adults).

Requirements

• Loves kids and has a gift for connecting with them.
• Can help train up other leaders to connect, teach, and disciple kids.
• Is a kid magnet—always connecting with kids and engaging them.
• Is a recruiting machine—able to recruit people to help with the ministry.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of volunteers in a similar role.
• Ability to create and execute impactful experiences for kids.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for children and their spiritual growth.

Benefits

Pay

$21-25 per hour.

Schedule

Part-time position for 20 hours per week, with a weekly schedule including:

• Sunday Morning: 7:00am-12:30pm
• Monday Staff Meeting: 1:00-2:30pm
• Wednesday Night: 6:00-9:00pm
• Weekly One-on-One with Pastor: 1 Hour
• Flex Work: Preparing lessons, meeting with volunteers, supporting Kids at their activities
• Hills Kids Camp 2027: June 22-25
