SFC Seattle Eastside LLC dba Sticky Fingers Cooking® is looking for part-time Chef Instructors in Woodinville to help us Cultivate COOLinary Curiosity in Kids®! Bring your passion for food and children to lead cooking classes using our kid-tested and approved recipes.

About the role

As a part-time Chef Instructor, you’ll be the face of our company, interacting with children ages 3-18, parents, and school staff each week. You’ll work on-site at different locations in your area, leading hour-long healthy and engaging cooking enrichment classes. Each week, you’ll use our creative recipes to teach children about new ingredients and healthy foods from around the world in a hands-on way.

  • Teach basic kitchen skills: washing, cutting, grating, stirring, measuring, nutrition, and safety
  • Share the history, geography, and language behind each recipe
  • Shop independently for fresh ingredients
  • Review weekly class curricula and prepare for instruction
  • Manage and engage groups of 8-14 children with diverse backgrounds and academic levels

Requirements

  • Availability at least 2 days a week (Monday - Friday, between 2-5pm)
  • Commitment to teaching full sessions (ranging from 4-12 weeks)
  • Washington Food Worker Card (can obtain before teaching)
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Ability to communicate with our team in a timely manner
  • Upon hire, employees will be required to pass a fingerprint background check

Qualifications

  • No professional cooking experience required
  • Experience working with kids of varying ages is a plus
