About the role
Cultivate COOLinary Curiosity in Kids® by helping us turn kids' meals into something exciting and educational. This is a fun, part-time job where you can lead cooking classes for children.
Responsibilities
- Teach full sessions ranging from 4-12 weeks
- Manage and engage a group of 8-14 children with diverse backgrounds and academic levels
- Create creative recipes and teach children about new ingredients and healthy foods from around the world
- Provide direction and encouragement to create a new recipe each class
- Lead hour-long healthy and engaging cooking enrichment classes for students
- Review weekly class curricula and prepare for instruction which includes shopping independently for fresh ingredients
- Teach basic kitchen skills including washing, cutting, grating, stirring, measuring, nutrition, and more
Requirements
- Availability at least 2 days a week (Monday - Friday, between 2-5 pm)
- ServSafe Food Handler Certification (can obtain before teaching)
- Access to reliable transportation
- Ability to communicate with our team in a timely manner
- Punctual and reliable
- No professional cooking experience required
- Experience working with kids of varying ages is a plus
Qualifications
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required by districts and schools
Skills
- Love for food and passion for introducing kids to new ingredients and exploring new tastes in the kitchen
- Ability to manage and engage a group of 8-14 children with diverse backgrounds and academic levels
- Organizational skills to review weekly class curricula and prepare for instruction
- Basic kitchen skills including washing, cutting, grating, stirring, measuring, nutrition, and more
- Knowledge of the history, geography, and language behind each recipe

Pay
$60 for a one-hour class + food reimbursement
