Children Family Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home and community based supports
• Connect child and family to resources (schools, parks, recreation etc.)
• Attend review hearings and Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings
• Advocate for child and family’s needs and prepare child and family for CFT activities
• Work with foster families to build and maintain positive, supportive, and encouraging working relationships and connect them to resources
• Prepare each foster child for the identified permanency goal
• Manage conflict and family crises through reference to family safety plan
• Co-facilitate training and/or activities for children
• Provide mentoring and teaching resources: nurturing/parenting skills, problem-solving/conflict resolution skills, child development, self-esteem concepts, safety plan for children and parents, and basic needs
• Document and record keeping

Qualifications

• Ace in Associate Arts degree in Human Services, Social Work or Psychology plus 1 year experience working with high risk youth; OR a high school diploma (or GED) plus 3 years’ experience working with high risk youth
• An equivalent combination of education and experience
• Current driver's license (valid for 1 year minimum), car registration, and auto insurance
• Successful clearance of local and/or state background checks
• A reliable, responsible attitude, compassionate approach and a commitment to quality in everything you do

Pay

Salary: $49,000 Annually (Salary Plus Overtime)
