Childcare Specialist

About the role

Loudoun County Department of Family Services seeks a dedicated, professional candidate for its Childcare Specialist position. The successful candidate will join the Public Assistance and Support division and the diverse department that envisions better health, safety, and well-being for all. The Department supports individuals and families in the community to live their best lives while advocating for those most vulnerable and respecting their right to self-determination.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client assessments and evaluate service needs
• Coordinate and collaborate with other professionals to develop plans for individuals and families
• Conduct crisis intervention and make client referrals
• Coordinate and conduct workshops
• Determine eligibility for assistance and develop daycare resources
• Manage daycare caseload
• Meet all state, local, and federal mandates and requirements for interviewing clients, processing applications, organizing and documenting case records
• Evaluate and substantiate eligibility criteria
• Ensure case closure follows appropriate procedure
• Maintain program documentation
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred qualifications

• Bi-lingual skills in English and Spanish

• Pass pre-employment credit, criminal, and Child Protective Services (CPS) background checks
