Childcare Lead Teacher – Before & After School
About the role
Healthy Kids Programs is hiring Lead Teachers for its Before and After School Program at Bethel Elementary School in Bethel, PA for the 2026–2027 school year. This position is well-suited for parents, education majors, and retirees.
Responsibilities
- Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
- Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
- Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
- Sometimes performing management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.
Requirements
- Candidate must possess one of the following:
- A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field.
- A bachelor’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 1 year of relevant experience.
- An associate’s degree in the above fields plus 2 years of relevant experience.
- An associate’s degree including 30 credit hours in the above fields plus 3 years of relevant experience.
- A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential plus 2 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting and reference checks.
- Must be medically fit to perform job duties which includes a clear TB test.
- Warm, friendly, professional, and reliable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
