Childcare Cook

About This Role

Chroma Early Learning Academy is seeking a dependable and caring Childcare Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children in a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a childcare setting, follows food safety standards, and takes pride in providing healthy meals that support children's growth and development.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to approved menus and portion guidelines.
• Ensure all meals meet state licensing and nutrition requirements.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen at all times.
• Properly store, label, and rotate food items following food safety regulations.
• Monitor food inventory and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment after meal service.
• Accommodate documented food allergies and dietary restrictions.
• Complete required kitchen cleaning and temperature logs.
• Follow all health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
• Assist with receiving and organizing food deliveries.
• Work cooperatively with center staff to ensure meal service runs smoothly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation and kitchen sanitation practices preferred.
• Ability to work independently while managing time effectively.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
• Must successfully pass all required background screenings in accordance with state childcare regulations.
