About the role

Performs complex child support work. Work involves conducting complex investigations of financial records, reviewing and approving work performed by Customer Service Representatives, training and assisting other staff.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for approval of modifications to OAG computer system and Tarrant County computer systems.
  • Performs complicated case assessment to determine appropriate subsequent action.
  • Balances payment history and arrearage calculation computations between OAG and Tarrant County Systems.
  • Researches and corrects complicated errors on collections and distributions, recoupments, repayment and double disbursements on TXCSES.
  • Handles complex child support problems and explains Child Support Office policies to attorneys, obligees, obligors and the public through individual interviews, correspondence or telephone.
  • Responds to inquiries and complaints concerning case status. Resolves client inquiries and complaints as needed in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assists Child Support Staff, clients and the public regarding all questions on payment posting, payment inquiries including payment validation, payment posting, payment tracing and error correction on OAG and Tarrant County computer systems.
  • Documents actions taken relating to cases by entering detailed data on STRADUS and TXCSES computer systems.
  • May respond to Spanish speaking client inquiries and resolves problems. May translate written and spoken Spanish for Child Support staff, attorneys and the public.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years of experience in full-time child support program or closely related experience.
  • Banking and/or bookkeeping experience preferred.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of child support policies, procedures and processes.
  • Extensive skill in using a computer.
  • Extensive skill in working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Requires strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well with people.

Physical Demands And Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, lift, push and pull.
