About the role

The Child Protective Services Worker (Social Service Specialist 1) plays a crucial role in safeguarding children from abuse and neglect. This position involves providing direct services to families and children who are at risk.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct home visits and assessments to evaluate family situations and identify potential risks to child safety.
  • Provide counseling and support to families to help them address issues that may be affecting their children's well-being.
  • Collaborate with other professionals such as law enforcement, medical personnel, and legal representatives to ensure the best interests of the child are protected.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve the situation for families and children, including referrals to community resources.
  • Document all interactions and findings in accordance with agency policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • At least one year of relevant experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $4,954 - $7,592 per month.

Schedule

Hours are typically Monday through Friday, with some evening and weekend availability required.
