Child Nutrition Service Center

About the role

Work under moderate supervision to perform point of sale (POS) transactions during meal service for students and staff following United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) guidelines.

Follow all rules and regulations to maintain high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, safety practices, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Speak, read, and comprehend the English language
• Understand written and verbal safety instructions
• Perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
• Operate a touchscreen point of sale system
• Cohesively work together with coworkers, students, and campus staff members by effectively communicating
• Maintain courteous relationships with students and faculty
• Recognize reimbursable meals and alerts on student accounts to charge meal accounts appropriately
• Review low balance reports and assist Cafe Supervisor with negative balance procedures
• Quickly and accurately process student transactions for speedy service
• Absorb and distribute food and supplies between meal periods
• Follow established procedures to meet high standards of cleanliness, health, and safety in the cashiering area
• Maintain personal appearance and hygiene according to departmental policies and procedures
• Record and maintain information in the daily instruction sheet according to departmental policies and procedures
• Assist in cleaning the serving areas of the cafeteria daily; duties may include, but are not limited to sweeping, mopping, etc.
• Promote teamwork and positive interaction with fellow staff members
• Comply with Frisco ISD and Child Nutrition Employee Handbooks

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language
• Ability to understand written and verbal safety instructions

• Ability to perform basic computer applications (email and timekeeping)
