Child Life Specialist - Pediatrics

About the role

The Child Life Specialist position at Navicent Health Medical Center - Child Life Creative Arts Therapies and Education is a full-time opportunity with benefits eligibility. The schedule is Monday through Friday, and the pay range is $25.30 - $37.95 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Provide child life services to children and families in a variety of settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and community events.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement creative arts therapy interventions and educational programs.
• Assess and document developmental and psychosocial needs of children and families, and provide appropriate support and resources.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain certification in Child Life.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the planning and implementation of care for pediatric patients.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• Current certification as a Child Life Specialist from the Association of Children's Museums or similar organization.
• Experience working with children and families in healthcare settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
