Child Life Specialist (Part-Time)

About the role

The Child Life Specialist supports patients from birth to young adulthood by facilitating therapeutic activities that address their psychosocial and developmental needs, easing their adjustment to healthcare experiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide support during medical procedures
• Support siblings and bereavement processes
• Manage resources and delegate tasks to volunteers
• Train and supervise student interns
• Participate in a multidisciplinary team

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a related field
• 600-hour supervised Child Life internship
• Certification as a Child Life Specialist within one year of hire
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of child development principles
• Commitment to teamwork and patient/family support
